  3. Patient alignment:

  5. Position the patient with their 
  6. chin in the chinrest and 
  7. forehead tight against the 
  8. instrument.  They may have to 
  9. turn their head slightly so the 
  10. cone does not hit their nose.  
  11. Adjust the height of the 
  12. chinrest so their eye is level 
  13. with the red mark on the 
  14. headrest bar.

  16. The patient is instructed to 
  17. look down the center of the cone, 
  18. hold still and fixate on the blinking white light.
